ARE FINALLY PLAYING (21/03)
We had no more
rain but it took an extra human effort to dry
the fields. The good news is that we are
playing. All sections fortunately completed a

GAMES CANCELLED
AGAIN (20/03)
The heavy
downpours in Edenvale caused havoc with the
National Championships this week. Another day
was wasted today when the heavens opened once
more. (See photos of day 5 in our gallery
section). A decision was taken to revert to the
first round, which was completed, and commence
with the page system playoffs tomorrow. We hope
that mother nature will be kind to us. Meanwhile
the time was not totally wasted for the
country's officials when various sub-committees
met to formalise and plan the operations of
Softball South Africa. News of these meetings
will be posted on our main site soon.
GAMES CANCELLED
FOR THE DAY (19/03)

Major rains overnight causes delay in
games (19/03)
We arrived to a flooded Edenvale Sports Grounds
this morning after heavy downpours overnight.
Currently the officials are in discussion to
determine the way forward. Keep checking this
site for further news.
Rain stayed away today (18/03)
With the A diamond out of bounds due to last
nights heavy downpour, the games went off
without a hitch today. Although some dark clouds
hovered above the rain stayed away long enough
for all games to be completed. The Western
Province women teams remained unbeaten after the
completion of the first round. Defending male
champions, Kwazulu-Natal, is finding it tough in
the major section with Eastern Gauteng leading
the pack. The photo gallery is up with 126
photos already published.
Thunderstorm hits last matches on second
day (17/03)

A thunderstorm suddenly puts paid to the five of
the last six games at the Nationals today. While
seeking shelter, the players witnessed a
glorious rainbow which seems to end across the
playing arena at Edenvale. However, no 'pot of
gold' was to be found. Most of the matches
completed the regulation five frames. All these
scores will be posted tomorrow morning.
