At meeting held 20 March Softball South Africa (SSA) instructed schools to structure as a SSA Schools Softball Committee.

All affiliates of SSA forms part of this structure until such time that schools can convene a meeting to formulate an Executive Committee which will include structures not affiliated to SSA, like North West, Free State and Northern Cape. Achilles said, “It is the vision of this structure that school softball will include all structures within their provinces in order to promote the game and to plan the way forward. It is our aspiration to get more educators involved in terms of coaching, management and technical. It is also our wish affiliate to the International Schools Federation”

Achilles will be accompanied by the local schools representative whenever SRSA and the Department of Education convene its schools meeting.

In support of the BackSoftball campaign, schools’ vision is to get more female educators involved in scoring, umpiring, coaching and management. It is also imperative that the number of learners increase at a rapid pace in line with this campaign. “We are indeed proud to be associated with the BackSoftball African Ambassador to the ISF, Lynn Alexander, an educator in the Western Cape. We hope we grow from strength to strength with the support of all concerned”, said Achilles.
